Materials:
200 (250, 300) g of Lana Grossa „Arioso” (48% Merino wool, 30% baby alpaca, 22% polyamide; 240 m/50 g) in Rosewood (col 19). Size 6 mm needles; size 5.5 mm circular needle, 40 cm long; size 5 mm crochet hook.

Rib pattern:
Multiple of 3 + 2 selvage sts. Row 1: Selvage st, * p2, k1tbl; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, selvage st. Row 2: Work sts as they appear. Rep rows 1 and 2 throughout.


Pattern A:
Multiple of 3 + 2 + 2 selvage sts. Row 1: Selvage st, * p2, k1, dropping yos from prev row; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2, dropping yos from prev row, selvage st. Row 2: Selvage st, * k2, make a yo, then slip next st as if to purl; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, selvage st. Row 3: Selvage st, * p2, make a yo, then slip next st and yo as if to purl; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, selvage st. Row 4: Selvage st, * k1, p1, slip yos from prev row as if to purl with yarn in back of work; rep from * to last 3 sts, k2, selvage st. Row 5: Selvage st, * p2, ktog next st and 2 yos; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, selvage st.


Drop stitch pattern:
Row 1 [RS]: Selvage st, * yo twice, k1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Row 2 [WS]: Knit all sts, dropping all yos. Row 3: Purl all sts. Row 4: Selvage st, * yo twice, p1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Row 5: Purl all sts, dropping all yos. Row 6: Knit all sts. Row 7: Selvage st, * yo twice, k1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Row 8: Knit all sts, dropping all yos. Row 9: Purl all sts. Row 10: Selvage st, * yo twice, p1; rep from * to last st, selvage st.


Pattern sequence:
Work 8 (10, 12) rows in rib pat. Next RS row: Selvage st, * [yo twice, p1] twice, yo twice, k1; rep from * to last 3 sts, [yo twice, p1] twice, selvage st. Next WS row: Work sts as they appear, dropping all yos. Next 10 rows: Work in drop st pat. Next 25 rows: Work in pattern A, working row 1 once, then working rows [2 – 5] 6 times. • Next WS row: Selvage st, * yo twice, p1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Next RS row: Purl all sts, dropping all yos. Next WS row: Selvage st, * yo twice, p1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Stockinette:
K on RS, p on WS.


Full-fashion increases:
Work M1R increase, 2 sts in from each edge.


Gauges:
On size 6 mm needles, 15.5 sts and 24 rows = 10 x 10 cm in stockinette; 12 sts and approx. 18 rows = 10 x 10 cm in pat sequence.


Back:
With size 6 mm needles, cast on 79 (85, 91) sts. Next WS row: Knit all sts. Next RS row: Selvage st, yo 3 times, k1; rep from * to last st, selvage st. Next WS row: Knit all sts, dropping all yos. Next, work in pat sequence until back measures 26 (27, 28) cm from cast-on, ending with row 3 of pattern A. Shape armholes: Cont in pat sequence and bind off 6 sts at beg of next 2 rows = 67 (73, 79) sts. Cont in pat sequence until armhole measures 14 (15, 16) cm, ending with a WS row. Shape shoulders: Working short-row shaping, leave 4 (5, 6) sts at each shoulder edge unworked 3 times, then leave 10 sts unworked once. Sl remaining 23 sts to a holder for neck.


Front:
Work same as for back until front measures same length as back to arm holes. Shape armholes same as for back. Cont in pat sequence until front measures 32 (34, 36) cm from cast-on, ending with 8 rows in pattern A. Shape neck: Sl center 15 sts to a holder. Working each side separately, bind off 1 st at each neck edge 4 times and when front measures same length as back to shoulders, shape shoulders same as for back.


Sleeves:
With size 6 mm needles, cast on 26 sts. Knit next WS row, then work the 10 rows of the drop st pat once. Next, work in stockinette, dropping all yos on fi rst stockinette row and shape sleeve as foll: Working full-fashion increases, inc 1 st at beg and end of 11th (9th, 5th) row, then every foll 10th row 8 times (then every foll 8th row 10 times / then every alternating 6th and 8th row 10 times, then every foll 6th row twice) = 44 (48, 52) sts. Cont in stockinette until sleeve measures 49 (48, 47) cm from cast-on, then bind off all sts loosely.


Finishing:
Join shoulders with a 3-needle bind-off. With size 5.5 mm circular needle, pick up and knit 75 sts around neck edge, including 15 front neck sts from holder and 23 back neck sts from holder. Join for working in rnds and work [p2, k1tbl] around for 4 rnds. Next rnd: Bind off all sts in rib. Set sleeves into armholes, sewing top 5 cm to bottom edges of armhole shaping. Sew side and sleeve seams. Make and attach fringe: For each fringe, cut a 32 cm long strand of yarn. Insert crochet hook into fabric from WS, fold strand in half to form a loop, draw loop through fabric, then draw yarn ends through loop and tighten. Attach 1 fringe in each cast-on st of back and front.
